Bob DeCarlo Art Show

The Little Falls Public Library and the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts are proud to present an exhibition of Bob DeCarlo’s acrylic-pour flow art. These works are on display from February 1st through March 31, 2022 in the community room of the Little Falls Public Library, a handicap accessible gallery space. In addition, there will be a reception at the library for this exhibition on Saturday March 19, 12:30 to 3:00pm. It is free and open to the public.  You are welcome to stop by and enjoy the exhibit, which is a continuance of the Art in Public Spaces program, during any regular library hours in the months of February and March 2022.

Dr. DeCarlo is new to the medium, has been painting for less than a year, and this is his first art exhibition. After recently retiring from a long career as a podiatrist, Bob decided he needed to fill his free time. He soon discovered he enjoyed painting with acrylics and it quickly turned into his passion. He hasn’t stopped. Finishing two or more paintings in just a few hours is not unusual.

Bob frequently experiments with different implements in his art creating a plethora of varied and unusual designs. Using brushes, combs, chains, straight edges, balloons, and just about any other object he finds around his studio, he creates these dynamic patterns. The paints and “brushes” are the inspiration he requires to complete a painting. His color sense is similarly unique having had no training or formal instruction in basic design. No “Painting 101” class for Bob. He comes to it through inspiration and instinct.
