Peregrine Falcon Experience
Matt Perry, president of the Utica Peregrine Falcon Project, will give a multi-media program about the first successful breeding pair of Peregrine Falcons in Oneida County on Sat., April 29, at 1:30 pm in the Community Room of the Little Falls Public Library (10 Waverly Pl., Little Falls). He will explain how world’s fastest bird has bounced back from the brink of extinction to become a dweller in urban “canyons” statewide, and show the latest short videos and close-ups of these remarkable flyers.
With the Utica Peregrine Falcons doing well, a tall building in Little Falls may become the site of the next Peregrine Falcon nest box. Besides being the President of the Utica Peregrine Falcon Project, Matt Perry is the Conservation Director and Resident Naturalist at Spring Farm Nature Sanctuary, located in Clinton, New York. Perry is also one of the regional editors of “The Kingbird”, a quarterly journal published by the New York State Ornithological Association, and he writes monthly nature articles for Mohawk Valley Living Magazine.
